                                   CHITRAL VALLEY




Chitral is divided into small valleys by the mighty Hindukush rivers. 

Chitral is undoubtedly the most romantic, captivating and enchanting place in the majestic Hindukush range. It is a mountainous area in the extreme north of Pakistan. The landscape of Chitral is extremely mysterious, with its steep harsh mountains, lush green valleys, beautiful meadows and big glaciers, which have made it one of the most difficult and inaccessible area of the world. The weather in Chitral is extremely harsh and cold in winter while the summer is very pleasant.


The Valley is famous for mountaineering, trekking, fishing and hiking in addition to a number of beautiful tourist spots. The best time to visit is from july to September, because it can get very hot during May and June. Known for hospitality, it is common practice for tourists to stay with a traditional Chitrali family during their visit where they can experience everything from the culture to the food to the dressing.

Historically Chitral was known as an independent princely state. After the independence, Chitral was the first state to declare the accession to pakistan.

1. Kalash Valley

                                The Kalash valley of Chitral are located in the sourthern gorges of Hindu kush Mountain range in Pakistan.
The Kalash beleive that a new sun is born on Dec 21 and the time and style of new sun affects the Flora and Fauna of the land.  The Kalash have unique funeral rituals. According to their beliefs, the departed soul is eager to leave the body and meet other souls after a long separation. They sing special songs and perform a funeral dance







2. Ayun Valley

                     Ayun is a beautiful village situated on a large alluvial fan on the west bank of River Chitral. 
The lush green marvelously beautiful and the most favorite among tourists for its natural beauty; Ayun valley is situated between Chitral town and Kalash. The people of Ayun valley are welcoming and cooperating like the people in rest of Chitral.

3. Garam Chashma

                          Garam Chashma is one of the many branch valleys of Chitral District, situated in  the extreme north-west of Pakistan.
Garam Chashma famous for its hot springs and the water is perceived for centuries, as a natural medication to cure the skin disoders and maladies, therefore the valley is visited by local tourists as well as foreign during the season . Overnight stay at the valley could be one of the most amazing experiences while enjoying the serenity and peacefulness of the area, especially the beauty of the mountains and landscape may enchanter you.





4. Koghazi and Goleen 

                                Fourteen kilometers from the town of Chitral Koghazi and adjacent Goleen are literally a piece of paradise on the earth. This is a valley of flowers, fruits, lush green meadows, canals, waterfalls, springs and beautiful landscapes.

5. Shandur pass

                        The world famous Shandur pass lies midway between Chitral and Gilgit. Shandur pass remains snow covered in winter and turns into green pastures during summer season.



 




6. Shahi Qila

             Shahi Masjid of Chitral was built by Shuja ul Mulk. This fort is definitely a place situated for a kingly residence. The fort is famous for its strong and cultural architectural style.





7. Chitral Museum

                    in order to preserve and protect the rich cultural heritage of Chitral, the idea of the establishment of Chitral museum was adopted.
Chitral Museum provides great knowledge about history and culture of Chitral and Kalash people.







 8. Tirich Mir

              Tirich Mir is the highest mountain of the Hindukush. The route to Tirich Mir is very risky, providing an opportunity for extreme adventure lovers to put their dexterity.
